  1. Tyler-
I dont think montag is going crazy i think that he is starting to realize what is going on in society and he is starting to think that this society is not right.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Do you think that in future it might end up like fahrenhheit 451

    ReplyDelete
  3. maybe. the society could make anyone go insane. the society is turning the brains of the civilians turn to mush. he could be going insane.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Tyler-

I think Montag is overwhelmed by the books since he has never been exposed to them so in a way he is going crazy, just like in the train.

    ReplyDelete
  5. No, I don't think Montag is going crazy. I think he is going through a phase of realization. I think he is "opening his eyes" to the outside world. This is important because once one man can see he can help others too see. I think this will change the outcome of the book, this "rise" to power or knowledge.

I think that Montag isn't going crazy, he is realizing that the government is a big lie and that people's ideas should be free to be expressed and since nobody is on his side, except for the professor, he has no choice but to do everything in his own way.

  7. Hunter- I dont know if the future will end up like f451 because i think so many people will rebel that we wont end up like that maybe little towns may but i dont think our country will.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Why isn't there more people that rebel in this society?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Do you think Beatty is actually under cover and is trying to help Montag?

    ReplyDelete
  10. cody- dont you think he is taking this realization to a extreme. On page 79 when he is on the subway i know he was trying to read but it was no need for a outburst like the one he had.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I agree with Garrett because no one has read books so their mind isn't use to the books because the books can produce other thoughts that the government isn't showing.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Tanner-
Have you ever thought that in f451 the society changed because it needed to? I believe that it is just a governmnet scheme to keep humanity tamed. It seems like that society doesnt raise strong people, there are many suicides that have occured because people are sitting infront of a screen forgetting what life is about.

  13. Why do you think that Clarisse spends time to sniff the roses but no one else does, like if everyone in the community are not allowed to do stuff and are all in a hurry why do you think Clarisse breaks away from the pack like what made her break from the pack

    ReplyDelete
  14. @ hunter,
depending if the leader of the country is insane or not, this might be a possible future. but i think that this future is a bit of a stretch

    ReplyDelete
  15. I hate how all of the people Montag is trying to help, just somehow back out in cowardice. That is what gives this world power. Cowardice.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hunter-

The books made Clarisse break away because she knew what life was like before they started burning books and is living her life how they did before that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Tyler-I think he may be a little crazy like the outburst on the subway but overall i think that Montag is just starting to realize how starved of knowledge people are and we wants some of this knowledge.

    ReplyDelete
  18. An intresting fact to take note of is that in the absence of books they rely on oration to supplement the lack of books.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @ garret,
i'm not sure if he is or not. Beatty always looks like he is up to no good to me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hunter- I think clarisse breaks away from the pack because of her uncle i think that he has given her influence to do the things she does.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why do you think Mildred just now started to trust Montag?

    ReplyDelete
  22. @ Sean
I actually think that this future is very possible. Maybe not to that extent but everyone wants to be treated equal and fair. With this society everyone is treated exactly equal. It doesn't seem right at all because there are no freedoms and little rights but in theory I think this could probably happen.

Like go eat your biscuit or something and the answer to your question that people aren't rebels because no one can beat there system

    ReplyDelete
  24. Shane
There aren't a lot of people rebelling in their society but like Beatty said is that their always is an odd one out there but they try to catch them as soon as possible. So people have tried to rebel but they have never have succeeded. And the way their society is, people don't think enough to rebel. They aren't really taught anything in school and too caught up in their own lives.

  25. Do you think that the fireman that set the robot dog on himself read books like montag but didnt understand them so he found know other reason to live. Does the books have to do with suicide or could it prevent it?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hunter-
The book says Clarisse was raised differently by her parents. But I wonder if there are other parents that try to raise there kids differently?

    ReplyDelete
  27. With the amount of people in our society that love books, theres no way we would ever end up like f451.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Matt-
She starts to trust him because he broke her away from the technology and opened her eyes and she starts to realize that their is more than just the car and parlor TVs.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kevin- i think the information of Benjamin Franklin being a fire fighter was a fake piece of information. I think the government is basically brain washing people. On pg 17 Montag quoted "There are too many people in the world" this made me think that people arent actually comitting suicide, its simply population control.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Who do you think regulates the programs on the tv walls? On page 94 it doesn't look like the women have any control over what they watch.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Matt i don't think that Mildred is starting to trust Montag because she keeps telling him to turn the books in or to burn them already but Montag doesn't want to because he feels that it took another person a lot of work to put the book together.

  32. Clarisse is an interesting character. I think she isn't as much of a role in the book as much as she is a symbol. As I said before, There needs to be a leader to "open their eyes" Clarisse changing a leaders mind is extremely effective and most likely will gather more. I think once they have an actually basis of "book" followers I think the people of this society will easily change their mind once this underground government would come into effect.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tyler- I think that maybe the fireman set the hound on himself because he thinks that what the firemen are doing is wrong and maybe he did read books and those drove him insane like how Montag got sick after he stole that book maybe that happened to the fire man.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Justin- From what i have read, where montag lives is a strict communist controlled community, so the government is controlling the programs. Maybe its brain wash? what do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Its Interesting that books bring the balance of knowledge but now in days people use the internet.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't believe he's going crazy. I believe he is going "normal." He may be crazy for the society he lives in but he lives in a ridiculous socciety to begin with so who's to draw the line between sanity and insanity. I think that the books have indeed made him a different person, and almost portrayed crazy for the book, but really think about it. He is becoming normal in my opinion.
Question: Who were the candidates that the friends of Millie's voted for and where are they now?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Tyler i think that the fireman that committed suicide with the dog did read books and was probably another Montag except that their fire chief knew and he used the dog to kill him and then they called it a suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  38. cody- could this be the future for Montag?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Does anyone think that the reason for banning books is to prevent a rebellion aganst the current government?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Do you guys think that more and more people will get curious like Montag and start to get books and read them?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Justin-
I believe the government controls what they watch, and censors the information given to their liking.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Justin B

I think that no one should give a women a remote ha ha no but what I think is that the government doesn't let you have the right to choose what you want to watch because if you let people choose then they start thinking and the government doesn't want them to think the have the right to choose, they want them to do what they choose

    ReplyDelete
  43. OVERALL QUESTION: Do you think that this society will ever change back to normal or will it cease to exist as a true society because they are too robotic?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Connor-

I think they did to prevent a rebellion because they want total control but cant do that when there are people who have read history and are smart, they are conforming people to gain control.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think that Montags mission in life is to free people from themselves. Did you guys ever see the movie Surrogates. It reminds me of F451, because the people in each society are dealing with an addiction to the shell of a life they live.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Cody-
I believe eventually once enough people start telling other people about books, then people will start wondering and start trying to read books. But at this point in the book, it doesn't seem possible for a whole revolution to happen.

  47. About the voting for president. i think the leader is a dictator but does not want to look like one so he runs against a man that no one will vote for because of his appearance, no because of his politics.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Cody M

Ya I think they will start reading it because they see one person do it and it will keep going like that because the people aren't happy and they see Clarisse happy they will try it and more people will break from it

    ReplyDelete
  49. One thing that made me think was that Millies friends voted for the president only because he was good looking. I think that symbolizes dullness in Montags society. I think the society differs from ours because none cares.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Connor

I do think that the reason for banning the books is that they want to prevent a rebellion and the best way to do that is to keep the people happy. Beatty already mentioned that by telling Montag that they don't want to step on the toes of dog owners, cat owners, doctors, lawyers, etc. and if they keep the people happy they don't have to worry about a rebellion because all the bad things that where on the books have all been burned away.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cody- If Montag is successful, then the society will cease to exist. Instead, a new and better society will emerge from the ashes.

    ReplyDelete
  52. @ tyler,
The fireman who set the robot dog on himself probably had somthing to do with books. between no other reason to live, and the corrupt society he thought that life was not worth it and commited suicide.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Cody- I think it's too late for the society to change. The only way it could possibly be changed is if Montag led a huge rebellion against the government.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think that the people in society dont know about politics so they only vote for the president based on looks.

    ReplyDelete
  55. That's a good point Jay. Something I have seen with Montag is that he really wants too share the information with others. Maybe he is that one guy that steps out further than anyone else and shares the information with others and it becomes a chain effect until the society realizes they are TRAPPED and they must change.

    ReplyDelete
  56. @ jay
Yea I agree, I think they are too brainwashed for the people to start reading. I think It would take a massive effort at this point to start getting people to read and be more open-minded.

    ReplyDelete
  57. carlos- do you agree that the government should atleast be honest about the past so history doesnt repeat itself?

    ReplyDelete
  58. connorm- they dont want history to repeat itself. they are happy with brainwashing society into a perfect world.

    ReplyDelete
  59. aaron- I think if books werent illegal people would love reading just like they do now. people have been reading books for centuries i consider it human nature so i dont think people would ignore books if they werent too scared to own one

    ReplyDelete
  60. I agree with Tyler about the voting for the president and how they put a good looking guy against a bad one because they will vote for someone that makes them feel happy just because he looks good and the people in the book don't go much further than appearances.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Is Montag stepping out further than Clarisse did in trying to expose information in books and realize the world around him? Is he the living legacy of Clarisse (the symbol of sanity in an insane society) and now becoming the symbol of what our society is like?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Conner-
I agree with you because just voting on someone based upon there appearance is wrong, and it really shows how little they care about what is happening around them.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Conner M

I agree with Conner M statement about the president get votes for being good looking instead of being good to run the country and that no one cares

    ReplyDelete
  64. I agree with Codym, Guy is realizing that the world that he lives in is corrupt and everyone has lost their free will and are basically controlled by fear and the government.

Shane- The government is similar to the government in uganda. In uganda the kidnap children then teach them to kill early in childhood so that they can't rebel and then when they are older thats all they know how to do is to kill. The government is brainwashing the children early, so that when they grow up they know nothing but to obey the rules and live their own lives and really just leave everything up to the government.

CodyK- i don't think the society will ever fully return to the way it used to be, but i do believe that if enough people are taught correctly and learn how to live their life with free will, they could CHANGE the society.
