  1. Alright, lets do this.

  2. As said in the inner circle, why do you think that they said Benjamin Franklin was the first fireman?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Class-
I am confused about what actually happened with the girl who got burned. Did she burn herself because it talked about her holding a match so did she burn herself or did the station and the firemen burn her?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Cody-
She burned her self because the firemen ran out as soon as she showed them the match and she lit it on the door and burned herself.

    ReplyDelete
  5. She brought out a match and the firemen ran away and she threw it into the spot where they sprayed the kerosene.

  6. Why do you guys think that montag took that book from her house?

    ReplyDelete
  7. The way the government is rewriting history is kinda weird in the fact that they have so much power to do something like that. The scary part is that people are starting to believe it and accept it.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Reece-
That's a curious question. It obviously isn't true nthat Ben Franklin burned books, so their society is fed information that they know to be true so that their society makes sense. But in reality, we all know that was not true and that firemen did put out fires in the past. They believe something that is untrue whether they are scared of the past or want to ignore it, it is evident that they are hiding from the past.

  9. Reece-
As jacob said i think that the government is attempting to rewrite history. Also the government is so powerful people are going to listen to what they say.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Cody,
She burned herself for her cause like kathy change. I'm not sure what her cause was but she died for it.

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ Reece

Maybe the reason that the government said Ben Franklin because as Jacob said maybe their trying rewrite history.

    ReplyDelete
  12. As Tanner in the inner circle, what do you guys thing about the firemen carring a book? Should they be banned from books because they are illegal?

    ReplyDelete
  13. what do you think about how they live with the tv as big as the wall and reading and how does it show up in the way they live
also do you think there are other clarisse what I mean by that is that other people look outside the box and think about why they burn books and all this stuff they do

    ReplyDelete
  14. Tyler-
I agree people are so absorbed in themselves and technology they don't realize the war and the fact that the government is slowly getting closer to total control over everything.

    ReplyDelete
  15. cody- her cause was to preserve books and the knowledge inside of books. I think her cause was to keep books "alive."

    ReplyDelete
  16. Cody:
I agree with what you are saying because it shows another example of how the people in the books society are so blinded and will believe anything. They don't even realize that there is a war going on and they believe that Ben Franklin burned books. The society is told what to do and they don't ask questions.

    ReplyDelete
  17. andy-
Since everyone else cant have a book even a guide book than the firemen should not have a book.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sean-
She burned herself because she doesn't want to see knowledge being destroyed. Her cause was learning and that was her way of protesting and saying how burning books isn't the right thing to do.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Who is Clarisse's uncle that feeds her all the information she has.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Andy-
They should not be carrying around books. It is contradicting the entire society.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Cody M-
He took the book because this is the turning point where Montage changes. He changes from where he likes burning houses and destroying book to where he thinks books hold something that people are trying to hide from him. He takes it so he can finally see whats hidden in these books.

    ReplyDelete
  22. asticka: As you can already tell the government has all the power and if they want the firemen to carry books then they can.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think the firemen should not be able to carry any type of book because that just makes their job pointless if it is meant for getting rid of books.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Andy- I think they should also be banned from books. even when the laws are strange no one is above the Law unlike what some people in hollywood think.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If they aren't allowed books what do they learn in school? And where did the teachers get their knowledge from?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sean-
It's also like how a Captain will go down with his ship. That was what they dedicated their life to so they had to end their life with it as well.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Do you guys think that the people are now starting to think about the war since the radio said that war may be starting any hour?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Asticka
I guess they don't make that a big of a deal for recent books but maybe they don't like people looking at books that make them think or something like that or maybe it's like a test to see if they would read it or not to see if they could be a true fireman

    ReplyDelete
  29. Garrett- I agree with you about the government. The people that have books are the rule breakers and that is why their houses an books are burrend for punishment. The government wants to take control of the society and all they need is time to have success in their wishes, but because Guy Montag is questioning reality it might slow it down.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Why is it that all the firemen look the same?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anthony-
The teachers probably get all their information from the government and only gives them what they want. The teachers really don't have any purpose because they are learning things that do not matter.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Cody M-
I think that is his way of portraying how lost the society is that now finally an hour away from getting destroyed the war is finally mentioned in Montag's life. However, he barely reacts so it just shows how robotic the society can be.

    ReplyDelete
  33. i agree with matt in the inner circle. i feel this place is a lot like north korea because the government has changed the society to one where no one knows whats going on outside their communities, but the government will use propaganda to tell the people what is good for them to hear but no anything bad that could turn the people away from the government.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @ asticka

Maybe Firemen carry books because to show that the books that they carry are not independent but to show that the book is promoting the government maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anthony-
The government teaches them that books are wrong and such. The government still has knowledge. I believe the government still reads books. It's just like how the Handicapper General had more power than everyone else. So the government can filter what the people can learn, like with the rewriting of history.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anthony-
I think the firemen all look the same becuase of what they do makes them look that way maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Cody M-
I don't believe that people will start thinking about the war. People are to wrapped up with their lives and only seem to care about themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Cody M:
I think this is a very possible outcome because if the people hear what the government tells them they will believe it. However maybe they won't because it might come as too big a shock. The people might go absolutely mad because they have grown so accustomed to what they were told for all those years. The people might not be able to handle what the radio is saying.

    ReplyDelete
  39. What happens if someone in this society is caught with a book? If they are hiding it or something, what happens?

    ReplyDelete
  40. anthony
So they don't lose them or something or so they can be recognize by people that there fireman or maybe instead of getting a uniform they get plastic surgery to look the same

    ReplyDelete
  41. Cody M-
I don't think people are going to start realizing there is a war because they will still be absorbed in stuff like their TV walls and they drive so fast and never pay attention to the outside world, they almost have their own little world that they don't see anything else outside of it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. i disagree cody. what they do cant really shape a person. i believe that they chose people of same characteristics to create a symbol of the firemen and who they are.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Do you think that some firemen have books too and are hiding them so they don't get their houses burned down?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Anthony-
They all look the same because in their society no one is different. They all do the exact same thing, burn books. They don't really think about anything else than being a fireman.

    ReplyDelete
  45. sean-
I think when someone is caught with a book they get sent away and something bad happens to them like the government takes over of the person maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sean:
They are probably executed or burned alive with their book or books. Society in this book is crazy enough to do that because they probably think that the person with the book is nothing so theres nothing wrong with killing them.

    ReplyDelete
  47. reece-
I think that firemen have taken books before because of curiosity and they want to know what is so bad about them.

    ReplyDelete
  48. sean, i agree the book has not said what happens to a person with a book. their house is burned with their books but what else happens?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Class-
I wonder why when a person is caught with books the person is not punished for it. There is no way to handle the people, so instead they just destroy the books. Why was it so effective for the girl to kill herself and the books and how did that affect the firemen afterward?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sean-
When someone gets caught with a book i am guessing they go to a facility and then there house gets burned down.

    ReplyDelete
  51. When do you think the society in this book decided to have firemen start burning books and homes? What was the reason for all of that?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think the synthesized society in Montag's world has left him in a world of darkness. If everyone is in the dark... thee light doesn't exist.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Do you think the world would be better without books or with books in Fahrenhwit 451

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jay

I disagree how could everyone in one society do the same thing? They all have different lives and are only involved in their own lives. Montag describes the firemen as having the same facial hair looks, same color hair, and same color skin. kind of like hitler and the Nazi.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Cody K-
When the people are caught with books they actually do go to jail. It is against the law to own or be in possession of books so when your caught you are punished.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Domonic, I feel that the books firemen carry makes them hypocrytical, and that doesn't help the society.

    ReplyDelete
  57. -Connor St.,
Didn't it say that the houses are made of fireproof material? how can a house be burned down?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hunter-
The world would be different because people wouldnt have knowledge so no one would really rebel but if they had books people would have knowledge and could do bad things so it all depends on your definition of a better world.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Even if the firemen carry books how many people in the society know that the firemen have them?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anthony-
Well they aren't allowed to have knowledge and they don't have enough brain to think about doing stuff different. Clarisse made Montag notice a lot of stuff that he had never taken the time to see before. They are all caught up in their own lives, but their isn't a lot of diversity between what they choose to do.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Reece-
That may be true. So my bigger question is why did it affect the firemen so much when the girl and the books went up in flames, but they didn't do it, they watched. Was that a mirror image of them so it affected how they look at their jobs and they realize how terrible it is to BURN.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sean-
Truthfully I don't know. If montag was here you could ask him.

    ReplyDelete
  63. cody
But maybe there burning the books because there hiding something that happen in the past so they can cover it up make sure no one knows what happen and if they let them read books they would go crazy so maybe its better there burning books

    ReplyDelete
  64. I agree with Sticka,
A fireman carrying a book makes them hypocritical. They don't let people have books and yet they carry books themselves. In the end, this won't help anyone.

    ReplyDelete
  65. @ asticka

I agree it makes the firemen hypocrytical but it seems Fahrenheit 451 shows that everything is hypocrytical. For example the wife tried to kill herself but, she said that she would never do that. Or that reading is forbidden.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i agree hunter, maybe the book burnings are for the bestt to keep society in order

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hunter

If something bad did happen they would have to kill everyone who knew about and they would only have to destroy certain books, not all of them. i believe that something bigger happened.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anthony- I don't think the government wants people to learn, so they have more power over everyone. There also isn't much to learn because of how advanced technology is. Technology can do almost evverything for them.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Reece R.
I think they said Ben Frankilin was the first fireman because they want everyone to belive that books have been a nuecense in society since the beginning. They took a historical figure and turned him into a fireman so everyone will look up to him as a book burner

    ReplyDelete
  70. tyler s-
I agree that the burning of books will keep the people in order. but in order from what? I think that if people start reading books they will get a feel for how things used to be and a rebellion or maybe even a revolution will start.

    ReplyDelete
  71. reece r.
I think that the firemen do steal books from the houses they burn because if someone is being for killed for such a petty crime then there must be something serious about them that the government doesnt want people to unravel. If i was a fireman i would be too curious not to read them and who is stupid enough to burn a house down completely over literature? the firemem make it way too obvious for someone smart enough to catch on to a theme the gov is portraying.
