Question #2

How do you like being in an all-boys class? Would you choose to be in an all-boys class again?

  1. I enjoy being in an all boys classes, but haven't been in one before except for football weights freshman year. I would definitely choose an all boys class again, it is a lot of fun and I feel that I learned and understood English much better as compared to freshman year.

  2. It was fun being in an all boys class; it was a new experience. It also gave me a different kind of learning then I had ever had before. I would definitely consider taking another one in the future.

  4. I do like the all boys classes here. But in my old all boys class last year, it ended up that half of the kids who couldn't keep their mouths firmly set and eyes up at the front were ALL in my class- so almost nothing ever got done.

On the other hand, I have learned a certain amount more in English ten [all boys] than I did last year in my coed English nine. I don't get distracted by girls, or how I look first thing in the morning [which normally looks like I have been thrown one and a half miles by a raging tornado] so I can focus better on my schoolwork. And focus has always been a HUGE problem for me.

  5. I like being in an all boys class because this is a great group of friends, that consider everyone's opinions. I would choose to be in another all-boys class and I'm already in another all-boys class for world civilizations and they are both great classes.

  11. I'd rather not be in an all guys class just because I feel like I don't focus as well especially in my all guy Chemistry class. I haven't been able to focus and ended up messing around a lot more than I did the first semester in my coed Chemistry class. My grade also shows how unfocused I get. But in my all guys English, I feel like I have learned a lot but probably the same amount of knowledge would have been pertained in a coed class. If I had a chance to be in an all guys class again, I probably wouldn't. It just seems to complicated to try to separate the guys and the girls.

  12. I really liked it, it's less tension in the room and guys can be guys. Helps me learn better, and I would choose to be in another all guys class again.

  14. Being in an all boys class first hour has been great. To me it seems that I've learned a lot more and there's just a totally different atmosphere that seems to work. I'm also in an all boys World Civ. Class sixth hour and it doesn't work near as well but thats more because of a select group of guys thats just disruptive. I think the single gender classes are working and it seems it works better for English and math. It's always seemed to me that guys have thought of math and English one way and girls have thought of it another way. And neither way is wrong but it would make sense to use a single gender class to teach to that way of thinking.

  15. I have actually enjoyed the all boy's class more then I thought I would because we are more productive then my last co-ed class. Even though we are more productive I don't think that I would be in another all boys class because I think the learning value is the same and with being in a co-ed class you can have more perspectives from girls because they think differently which is also valuable.

  17. I have three all boys classes this year, the two academic classes (cultural geography and English 10) and one athletic (flag football). The academic classes have been great I have learned more and do better grades wise in them, the athletic has not been good though. I don't think that it was bad because its all guys its just the people in it.

  19. I think that all boys classes are great fun but i think you should take it only if you have a hard time concentrating in all gender classes if all my friends were in a class again i would be in one again.

  20. I like it quite a bit, I was skeptical at first, but now I know what they are all about. The guys are nicer to other guys when they aren't trying to impress girls. So everyone is nice to everyone for the most part. I like them and I would be willing to take them again.

  21. Being in an all-boys class has been a great experience. I have enjoyed it and it has challenged me in different ways than in a coed class. I would definitely take another all-boys class. I think it is beneficial and takes learning to a whole new level.

  22. I feel like the all boys class has been a good experience from the beginning. It allows for a more open environment where things can be said unapologetically. You can stop focusing on how you look and how you act and more on the class. I also feel that the lesson plan is more focused on boys interests rather than trying to please a whole class of very different minds. I would definitely go into another all boys class, depending on the subject however. I think with some courses are better with both genders giving their ideas and opinions on the subject.

  24. I was a good experience being in an all boys class but i don't think I'd do it again. I like have girls in my class and that is one of there reasons i choose to go to Arapahoe instead of Regis or some other all boys class schools.

  25. I don't mind it, i think it is a lot easier to work together than always trying to impress the girls. I also feel a little more open to the class.
