What is your big take-away from The Kite Runner? In other words, what themes did you see emerging from this novel that might be relevant to your own life?

  1. The lesson I learned is always stand up for your friends even you might face death. Another lesson I learned is tell the truth so another person won't get the blame for it.

  2. I feel that injustice is a theme, but also I feel that it is the path to courage and happiness.

  3. My take away from the Kite Runner, is to never give up in your struggles. Amir was called to be a hero, he is strongly debating to answer the call to heroism or not.

  4. My big take-away from the Kite Runner is redemption. Amir lost his best friend and goes on a journey to make up for his mistakes and lose his burden.

  5. For people that aren't inherently evil, there is always a way for redemption. In relation to the Kite Runner, a person like Assef can't ever redeem himself, but someone like Amir- a person who has just made bad choices-can.

  6. The Kite Runner to me is about redemtion. It showed me that no matter how bad you screw up there is always a away to be good again.

  7. I learned from the Kite Runner that you need to listen to others closely. Amir didn't really understand and listen to Sohrab when he told him how he didn't like orphanages. This relates to me in my life because sometimes I don't fully listen to people and understand them.

  8. My biggest take away is a realization that sometimes there is no hero, or that hero lacks things like bravery or fortitude. Sometimes the hero isn't so super, and he can only be referred to as 'Main Character' Protagonist.

  9. My big takeaway from the Kite Runner is redemption within family. How one person in the family redeems himself after doing wrong.

  10. From the kite runner, I learned not to betray my friends. Its a bad idea in the first place, but betraying you friends could lead to bad events later in your life.

  11. One theme in the Kite Runner that was relevant to my life is the theme of fathers, because I have more than one father and there are several father figures in this novel, so it relates to my life because i understand how hard it is to have more than one father and also how cool it can be.

  12. The one major lesson I learned from The Kite Runner was to accept/forgive yourself. This applies to my life because back in seventh grade I discovered that I have an anxiety disorder that can cause huge panic attacks and me to be insecure with myself. So I can relate to this lesson because I no what it is like to not want to live with yourself or what you might have to face.

  14. What I take away is the way Amir never gives up. He didnt stop even when everything was going down.

  15. My big take away from the kite runner was the ability to make things right when you have done something wrong. It doesn't matter how long you might take to make things right but as long as things are right in the end you can live, free of negative thoughts.

  16. A theme that may be relevant in my life with this book would be that making mistakes are okay and you learn from them to become stronger. Amir makes some mistakes in his life that change his life forever, but they also make him into the man his father wanted him to be.

  17. One big theme is overcoming your fears and bad memories. When Amir faces his fear of going back to Afghanistan and then he overcomes his fear of his past, he fulfils the theme.

  18. I was more suprised than anything. my prediction was wrong. i Was expecting more of a war then what happened. In a way, The Kite Runner is a lot like our lives today because issues are solved with less violence and more talking.... maybe

  19. The thing I took away from this book is that I you can never be to late to make up the past and it doesn't take much to be a hero.

  20. A lesson I learned from "The Kite Runner" is that no matter how bad it gets, you can always make it better.

  21. "The best way out is always through"- Robert Frost. In "The Kite Runner", the main character, Amir ran away from his problems and when he came back to Kabul to right his wrongs, his problems had become bigger and more complicated. His guilt drived him to take care of his problems even though he had avoided them from 25 years.

  22. I think that the Kite Runner's theme is about how you can always make right what you already did wrong.

  23. In The Kite runner the theme that is the most relevant to my life is that no matter what happens to keep your head up and keep going. Amir is affected by things going on around him like Hassan getting raped and Baba passing away. Even through all of this, Amir tries to keep his life on track.

  24. To me The Kite Runner is a story of a boy who has to find redemption in his past. He has to travel back to where everything happened to finally feel at peace with him self. He had been running for so long that he needed to come home to find that redemption. Once home he realizes all he needs to do, and does it to an extent.

  25. The biggest take away for me would be to always be there for your friends. If Amir would have been there for Hassan in his time of need I think the book would be changed drastically.

  26. The kire runner taught me that no matter what color your skin is, whom you pray to, and where you come from you should always honor the person next to you because you never know what they have been through.
