  2. I think they should be banned because if someone wants to make a bomb all they have to do is check out a book. This would make it very easy to commit a criminal act by just reading a book. I think they should be removed completely so it is not so easy for a criminal to find out how to make a bomb.

  3. Books with instructions on one to make bombs should be banned because these kinds of books give students way too easy access to such dangerous things. Anyone can walk into the library and get a book to learn how to make a bomb.

  4. I guess they should be banned from school libraries. I don't think anyone would go and look for a bomb book. And i don't think anyone in school could even buy the materials but what ever makes you happy i guess you should do it.

  5. I disagree because no book should be banned. Banning a book about a bomb is actually counter productive in that, Most kids study about atomic bombs one point in their life. So why shouldn't those kids be able to learn how it works? Of course bombs are dangerous, but information can only be good in the correct hands. Something as simple as fingerprints can be good in a detective's hands but horrible in a murderer's hands.

  6. I do not think that this is very necessary. If someone really wants to make a bomb, they are going to find another source to use. If the knowledge is out there, there is not a perfect way to keep it from somebody. Also, banning something or telling one not to do something generally has an adverse effect and ends up sparking interest.

  7. I think that books with bomb instructions should still be in the library, but you have to get permission from a teacher if it does. Because if you have a troubled student in the school the might cause trouble because of emotion, then you do no want them to read that kind of book. Sure it is a flawed system, but we can't ban the right to read.

  8. I think they should be banned because its a disturbing thought that someone could learn how to make a bomb in a school library. Why would they even have books on how to make bombs here? This just makes it easier for someone to be a dangerous threat to the school with no one knowing it.

  9. Books with instructions on how to build bombs shouldn't be banned from Littleton public libraries because the don't do any harm. the only harm that comes would be if someone actually built a bomb and set it off somewhere. I think that if a bomb is set off, it is the person who sets it off's fault. he is the one who did the damage.

  10. I agree with this statement because if we have books with instructions on how to make bombs then we are making terrorists in our own backyard. If somebody wanted to bomb a school they could find the instructions in our library and i don't like that.

  11. I agree with this statement. If we have availability to books like these we are infecting the minds of innocent people. I think books like these should be banned from all libraries.

  12. No. Its a reasonable idea, but that may include many GOOD fiction books and chemistry books. I don't believe any kind of book should be banned.

  13. I disagree because even if you ban the material its still online and you can get to it there. So I dont think it matters whether or not you ban it but its probably not gonna make a difference.

  14. I agree with this statement because young people dont need to know how to make bombs at school. maybe kids our age want to know this stuff but they should be given this kind of knowledge at school where we are suppose to protect and support one another. If this kind of knowledge is just being handed out it could cause and incedent like Colombine except with bombs going off and potentially hurting way more individuals that a person who could only shoot one person at a time. If knowledge of bombs is handed out at school, i believe then that it is aa saftey violation to the rest of the student population.

  15. I think that if people really wanted to know this they should be able to get it but definitely not at a school library. There are books about a lot of different topics but not all of them are relevant or important to the general learning in school. I just think that schools are not an appropriate place to get books like that and there are other places where you could go.

  16. Depends on what kind of bomb your talking about, if your talking about a bomb that can kill millions or hundreds of thousands of people, is this even an argument? There is no way that they should be allowed. But its the purpose like Kevin said that like a small chemistry bomb to explore reactions than that's fine, but a real bomb is obviously way across the line of reasonable thinking. No Way! Ban all books on how to make a bomb!

  17. I disagree because if someone really wanted to build a bomb to kill someone then what we really want to regulate are the materials to make a bomb. The person wouldn't even have to get a book they can just go on the Internet and find out how.

  18. I agree with Reece it would be a dangerous threat to the school and we wouldn't have school shootings we would have school bombings and that would be worse because your not expecting it.

  19. I agree with Cody K and Kevin. Some should be banned according to the way the book is made. If it is a book about chemistry or learning then it shouldn't be banned. But if it's a book about hobbies and random bomb things then yes it should be banned.

  20. Like I said in my previous post on the racist books issue, read what you want where you want just as long as you aren't hurting or scaring people. Something like this is just messed up, I mean why would any body publish a book on how to make a bomb let alone sell it in their store. I would have to agree with this issue on banning these books.

  21. I agree with what Reece says. The knowing that a school (your school) has books on how to make bombs does not set a friendly environment throughout the school. I think they should be banned even if someone can search for it through a different source.

  22. I agree with Cody. I never thought about what type of bomb the book could contain and I do agree that if the bomb had something to do with a class and learning then that would be okay to have in a school library. But if the book was about making a bomb that would be a threat to students and others then that would not be acceptable to have in a school library.

  23. i agree with JustinB. if someone really wanted to build a bomb, there are other sources.

  24. In response to Cody K...
First of all I agree with you on the subject, if the book is for how to make an atom bomb it is still okay to have in a school library. But I disagree with what you said about banning all bomb books from schools. Its not like you can go out and buy all of the things that are used to make a bomb. Sure it is not safe but I don't think even if the person got all of the things to make a bomb they could do a lot of damage, because it is homemade.
