Before we finish reading Macbeth, I'd like you to use this blog to make a few predictions based on the patterns you have noticed in Acts 1-4.
Please make at least TWO predictions and explain what pattern has lead you to these predictions. In other words, make an argument for each prediction.
Here are a few topics you could consider:
Which part of the prophecies made in 1.1 and 4.1 will come true and how? Which ones won't?
What will ultimately happen to Macbeth? How?
What might happen to Lady Macbeth?
Who dies at the end of the play, and who gets to live?

The two predictions I can make is that Macbeth will be overwhelmed by Macduff's army because Macduff really has a reason to fight. Macbeth sent murderers out to kill his family so he has a strong thirst for revenge that will power him to victory. The other is that Lady Macbeth will be found out by the people in the castle because of her sleepwalking. The gentlewoman and the doctor will probably tell the others what she has been saying and it will put her into a lot of trouble. She may even be executed. The villagers in the castle may go after Macbeth with Macduff as well because they know that he was married to Lady Macbeth so that he must have been a part of the crime along with her.
ReplyDeleteWell one of my predictions is that Macduff is going to charge is castle and break in the doors of the castle or gate of the castle with tree's, The reason I say this is that the prediction says he won't be beat unless the tree's move to his castle so thats why I believe this. And my other one is what (Brendan) said but he beat me to it but ya Lady Macbeth is going to get caught for all the sleep walking she is doing and I think this is kinda of funny because Lady Macbeth is telling Macbeth to shut up and stop worrying and all this and I think lady Macbeth is going to blow the whole cover on there murder frenze.
ReplyDeleteAnd I think In the end this is a guess but since he can't be hurt any body born by a women well I think that, In the front of the book and movie about that guy getting hanged by the castle well I think that Macbeth is going to be hang by people since and thats what I believe will happen in the end because if he is hung he is not killed by anyone
One predictions i have is that Macduff will raise an army and charge Macbeth's castle and eventually kill only Macbeth and his army, then either take the thrown, give it to fleaonce, or have malcolm or donaldbain take the thrown. i came up with this because Macduff said he would raise an army and kill macbeth. Second i think lady macbeth will commit suicide because she feels guilty for all that she has done. I came up with this because i happen to know that she does.
ReplyDeleteOne Prediction is that instead of the forest of burnham wood actually going to Macbeth's castle, other things that are made from burnham wood will go to his castle forexample a battling ram. The reason that I think of this prediction is that he was told what would happen about the prophecy. The second prediction is the second premonition telling Macbeth about no man that is born of women can't kill Macbeth. What my prediction is he is going to die a natural cause maybe. The reason I think this is because he is going insane so it can't be good for him.
ReplyDeletewell, I think macbeth will be killed by macduff. There will be some weird twist in the prophecy. Lady Macbeth will probably be executed. and I asked a friend and he says that everyone die in this story. plus this is a tragedy, not a comedy.
ReplyDeleteOne predition that I have is that i believe Lady Macbeth is going to be put nto death and accused of the Murder of Duncan. Since she has been sleep walking and telling about what she has been saying what she was saying to Macbeth and the doctor and Gentelwomen will spread the word about her. Another prediction is that everyone is going to die at the end of the play except Macduff and fleance. I think this because of what the witches said to Macbeth about fearing Macduff, and that Banquo's son will be king.
ReplyDeleteMy First prediction is that Macbeth will be defeated by Macduff when he is attacked. Macduff will use the trees at the wood to make siege engines and battering rams. The second is I think Macbeth will be killed by an animal because the witches said that he cannot be killed by anyone born of woman.
ReplyDeleteI think that Macbeth and his army will be beaten by Macduffs army, and Macbeth will be killed by the hawk which was seen on the sholder of the ghost of Banquo. Also Lady Macbeths sleep talking will make her seem like she killed Duncan and then she will be murdered too.
ReplyDeleteOne prediction that i think is going to happen is that Lady Macbeth will keep on sleep walking until she says the fact that Macbeth killed Duncan but Macbeth will say that she has gone crazy an exile her to some foreign country. My second prediction is that Macbeth will kill Macduff and Malcolm but Fleance will kill him by setting the bear on him. I predicted that because Fleance is said to be the next king of Scotland but Macbeth cannot be killed by anyone born of a woman.
ReplyDeleteI predict that Lady Macbeth's sleep walking and mumbling will give away all of the wrong deeds done under the reign of King Macbeth and that the rest of scotland will rise up and rebel when they here of the wrong deeds done in castle Macbeth. My other prediction is that during the battle against Macduff, Macbeth will be ready to ride into the heat of battle and is about to give the charge when he will look up for one final glimpse at heaven and make a quick prayer when he will see the hawk that was over ghost Banquo's shoulder during the haunting and b so frightened that he will fall off of his horse and some of the farther back troops will take that as a sign and charge trampling Macbeth and ending the war for Scotland.
ReplyDeleteI think that the prophecy of the trees will come true and the born of a woman as well. I think that Macbeth will be killed by Macduff who is filled with rage and sadness should be the one to kill him. I think that Lady Macbeth will either be put to death or go into hiding because of her part in the murder of Duncan. I think the murderers will die and the good men will live because this is a Shakespeare tragedy.
ReplyDeleteI think two reappearing paterns are that Macbeth is now just a mindless killer, he doesnt think about anything before he does it, so that makes him go insane, he feels no guilt. The second pattern is that Macbeth is also getting cocky, he feels invincible and that no human born of woman can kill Macbeth, and that trees would have to walk and destroy him, so he feels comfortable and secure.
ReplyDeleteMy first prediction is about what will happen to Lady Macbeth in the future. I think after she had that scene where she is sleep walking and trying to get the blood off, she will try to kill herself. She cannot bear the pain of what has happened and she even said she cannot wash this blood from her hands. I think there is no way Lady Macbeth will be able to make it out alive by the end of the play. Also, since this is a tragedy it only seems realistic if she would die.
ReplyDeleteMy second prediction is about Banquo's sons being Kings for generations to come. Because Fleance was able to escape the murders, it still means that he is out there and could be likely to take the thrown. Macbeth will not be able to be King forever because at one point in time he shall die. The witches prophecy came true for Macbeth so there shouldn't be a reason it doesn't come true for Banquo. Also, they not only made the prediction once, but they made it in Act 4 as well as in Act 1.
Ultimately I think that Macbeth will end up living throughout the whole play because of the predictions the witches said but I do think he will be a very bitter and crazy person by the end. I think that Macbeth will eventually realize all that he has lost, and figure out that killing all of those people was not worth being the king.
ReplyDeleteLady Macbeth I think will be the main person who dies in this play. You can see that she can't really handle all of the blood and violence as well as Macbeth and she is slowly withering away. I think that when she dies it will be like the final straw for Macbeth and he will realize that all he has done is stupid.
My first prediction is about the prophecy that macbeth can't be harmed or stoped unless the trees start walking. Because this is a weird and twisted book and it would be cool to suprise Macbeth. I think the trees will start walking and invade his castle.
ReplyDeleteTo finally end this weird bloody story, I think Lady Macbeth will kill herself. She will not be able to take the fact that she started Macbeths rampage and has caused all of this bloodshed and commit suicide.
My first of two predictions are that the prophecy that Macbeth cannot be harmed my a woman born person will backfire because not all births are natural and may require a c section.
